Marks & Spencer said the six-year deal would see npower provide enough renewable electricity.
Marks & Spencer said the six-year deal would see npower provide enough renewable electricity - 2.6 terawatt hours (TWh) - to ultimately power all its stores and offices.
The electricity will be supplied from renewable sources such as wind and hydro farms, with a significant amount bought from small-scale independent generators, it added.
The retailer said the deal was a major step towards its goal to become carbon neutral.
