Last year Skoda Holding enlarged its net profit by 77 %, to 35,5 million Euro with the growth of sale by 30 %, to 337 million Euro
Those details do not encompass acquisitions in Russia, Hungary, India and China. The producer of turbine engines Skoda Powers noted profit of 106 mil Euro, while Transportation group - which includes Skoda Transportation Skoda Electri (producer of trolley-bus), Vagonka Ostrava (producer of iron coaches) and VUKV Praha Research Institute had sale of 231 million Euro.
26 million Euro for modernisation of manufacturing plants
Skoda Holding believes they will this year too achieve good business results, and the sale is expected to amount to 461 million Euro. Till the end of 2008, Holding will invest 26 million Euro in modernisation of manufacturing plants and this year employ another 300 workers in order to realise the contracted deals.
Three new manufacturing plants in Plzen
Skoda Transportation will till January 2008 in Plzen build three new manufacturing plants, in order to enlarge manufacturing of trams, power-generating engines and metro trains, Poslovni dnevnik writes.
In the next couple of years Skoda Power will concentrate on special markets like India, China, Russia, where they plan to build and modernise dozens of electric plants, in order adequately to satisfy growing demand for electricity, both by the populations as well as the fast growing industry.
