Split’s Airport Makes 30 Mil. Kuna Profit

1,095.852 passengers in both directions passed through Split’s airport, which is 17.3 percent more than a year earlier.

Of the total number of aircraft which passed through the Split airport last year, 87 percent were international flights. 8,598 aircraft parked here which is 7 percent more than last year so the total profit was 159.9 million kuna, and the profits before tax adds up to 30 million kuna, written by Poslovni dnevnik.

There are 70 low fare airlines

Traffic was increased thanks to low fare airlines Germanwings, EasyJet, WizzAir and SkyEurope who made up 15 percent of total traffic.

In Europe there are 70 low fare airlines that make up 30 percent of the market, whilst in Croatia it only makes up between 4 and 5 percent. There are seven low fare airlines that operate in Croatia: RyanAir, Germanwings, Happag Lioyd Express, SkyEurope, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Wizz Air and Easy.
