Ukraine`s Naftogaz Pledges To Pay Gazprom On Time

Both Naftogaz and Gazprom said earlier the raid by security forces searching for originals of a supply contract would threaten the payment.

A raid on the headquarters of Ukrainian state energy firm Naftogaz will have no effect on timely payment to Russian giant Gazprom for gas supplies, a Naftogaz spokesman said on Wednesday.

"We will do everything to pay on time," Valentyn Zemlyansky said by telephone.

Both Naftogaz and Gazprom said earlier the raid by security forces searching for originals of a supply contract would threaten the payment. Naftogaz's arrears to Gazprom were at the heart of a three-week stand-off in January.
