Adidas launches shoes for the poor

The aim is to offer sneakers that protect against the widespread and harmful infections at prices that are affordable for the poor.

In partnership with the “banker of the poor” and the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Mohamed Junus, German manufacturer of sports equipment “Adidas” plans to produce sneakers for the poor.

- Adidas has decided to launch a pilot project in Bangladesh that aims to follow a ‘social business’ model – a cooperation concept advocated by Junus in resolving social problems – Adidas announces.

The goal is to “offer sneakers that offer reliable protection against the widespread and harmful infections at a price affordable for the poor”.

German press speculates that sneakers will be offered at a price lower than one Euro.
