Biggest and Longest Solar Eclipse in This Century

Text

On July 22 the citizens of China, India and Japanese islands will witness the largest and longest solar eclipse that will repeat in 2132.

The largest and longest solar eclipse to occur in this century will occur on July 22 and will last for 6 minutes and 39 seconds. The eclipse will be best seen from India, China and the Japanese islands Ryukyu and Iwo Jima.

Solar eclipses occur when the moon’s shadow comes across the earth. This eclipse is special because of the way that it will be perceived on earth.

It is specific in the fact that the Sun will be exactly 400 times further away than the Moon, and then the Sun’s rays will cast a perfect shadow because the diameter of the sun is 400 times larger than the diameter of the moon.

There are three kinds of eclipses: total, partial and ring.

In the case of a total eclipse of the Sun, the Moon totally covers the sun, and the eclipse can be seen on a narrow strip of earth that the shadow is covering.

At the same time as the total eclipse, a wider belt of people will be able to see a partial eclipse, whilst the ring eclipse can be seen when the final rays of light can be seen behind the Moon, which occurs before and after a total eclipse.

In 2081 darkness will cover Croatia

The next eclipse of these proportions will occur in June 13, 2132, at least that it what the experts say, writes Vjesnik.

A total eclipse occurs once every 18 months on average, but it occurs on different sides of the world.

Croatia and surrounding countries will not have an opportunity to see a total eclipse until 2081, when total darkness should fall over the area.
