French actress Brigitte Bardot has asked American President Barack Obama to advocate saving seals in the world.
The French film icon and long-year animal rights activist has sent a letter to US President Barack Obama, inviting him to loudly speak out against seal clubbing. Bardot told the AP on Friday that she has high hopes of Obama, although she knows that everyone keeps asking him something and that he has already done a lot in his own country.
The actress` letter refers to Obama`s visit to Canada on Thursday, country which holds annual seal hunts.
The USA banned the sale of all products made of seal fur in 1972. The European Union is also considering this option, while Bardot hopes Obama will managed to fight for the ban with his reputation.
