Bubicic: I Hope This Mister Does Not Have a ‘Past’

We decided to ask the previous Miss and Mister Croatia what they think about their successors.

The new Miss and Mister Croatia and Ivana Vasilj and Bruno Oreskovic.

“I like the new miss, she is different. In Croatia it is rare that a blonde girl wins” said Miss Croatia 2005, Maja Cvjetkovic, for Javno.

Maja says that at all of the contests, a lot more attention is given to the girls than the boys, which is understandable, because you must admit the competitions are always based more on women.

“When the girls came out, I noticed the new miss and I said that she is really different. The other girls were beautiful, but this was is really attractive. That is what I would specially stress with her” said Maja.

My favourite did not win

Of course, we asked Mister Croatia 2008, Dino Bubicic what he thought of the competition.

“I have to admit that my favourite did not win, but all three boys that entered the super finals got there totally deservingly, and if any of them won, it would have been deservingly” said the former Mister Croatia.

Dino did not get the opportunity to get to know Bruno Oreskovic well, but from what he heard from their communication, the new mister is a sportsman and a good boy, and it depends on him how his career will develop

“He needs to be left alone for a few days for everything to settle, to think about what he will do afterwards in consultation with his family. Of course, it all depends on his skills” said Dino.

Bubicic warns new mister

When we asked what Dino Bubicic would advise the new mister, he said the most important thing is to surround himself with good people he can trust, and that he hopes that Oreskovic does not have some delicate situations in the past.

“I hope that he does not have anything in the past which will constantly be thrown at him, and give him unpleasant situations with every step, like what occurred to me” said Dino, who knows what he is talking about.

He says that Ivana Vasilj was his favourite, that she stood out with her stance, pose and knowledge, and that it was obvious that she would win. The blonde hair of the winner was only an additional plus and detail which went her way.

Aleksandra Grdic does not expect good results

If somebody is always up to date with fashion, it is certainly Miss Croatia 2003, Aleksandra Grdic, who has a great view of that sphere of life.

“The new miss is very nice, we finally have a blonde for miss” said Aleksandra.

She describes the miss, model and former “farma” show contestant, Tatjana Vasilj, as a Swedish type of girl.

“I have to admit that my favourites always have black and brown hair, but the girl is beautiful” claims Aleksandra.

Aleks knows a lot of the things that stand behind the scenes of beautiful girls, men, excellent scenes and extravagance at the contests themselves. We were interested what she thinks about Miss Croatia’s chances at the world competition.

“She will certainly present Croatia nicely, but there will not be great results” considers Aleksandra.

No underestimating the new miss, Aleksandra sees poor results in something totally different – in politics.

Grdic and Valentinic happy the competition was held in Slavonia

“Croatia must give a lot more money for all sorts of things, and for humanitarian purposes, and some models bring in 100 or 200 thousand of I don’t know what currency. Politics is a great factor” said Aleksandra.

The former miss sees the new mister as a handsome and imposing man, who can have a great career in modelling if he tries, and says that she is happy that the competition was held in Slavonia, where there is a lack of events.

“I have to admit that I did not watch it, so I cannot give comments, I only know that the contest was in Slavonia, which I like, because it is great that other parts of Croatia are promoted a little bit” said Mario Valentic, Mister Croatia 2003. It is totally understandable that he does not have a lot of free time, because his wife, who he says is holding out fine, and wishes every woman a similar pregnancy, should give birth any day now.
