Up until now, Facebook only had the rights to your pictures whilst your profile was open.
The most popular social networking website Facebook, has implemented some changes to its “terms and conditions” so that they will be able to use all of the data from their users, even after they delete them or turn off their profile.
Up until now the website only had the right to use data whilst your profile was in use and open, but according to the new terms and conditions, Facebook has the right to even rent out the rights to the data from all its users.
Facebook’s terms and conditions state:
“You hereby grant Facebook an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid, worldwide license (with the right to sublicense) to (a) use, copy, publish, stream, store, retain, publicly perform or display, transmit, scan, reformat, modify, edit, frame, translate, excerpt, adapt, create derivative works and distribute (through multiple tiers), any User Content you (i) Post on or in connection with the Facebook Service or the promotion thereof subject only to your privacy settings or (ii) enable a user to Post, including by offering a Share Link on your website and (b) to use your name, likeness and image for any purpose, including commercial or advertising, each of (a) and (b) on or in connection with the Facebook Service or the promotion thereof”.
It seems that Facebook users have no other choice but to be very careful on the content of each photograph that they upload to their profile, as well as anything they put in their account.
