Find Your Ideal Marriage Bed

Text

The bed is the central element of every bedroom. Its design can make the room prettier and spice up your nights.

The bed is a piece of furniture with the basic function of being the place where people sleep. It can, however, be the place for sexual games or the place where we rest. Its design can make the room prettier. The place where we sleep affects how rested we are and it affects our health.

Four-poster bed – This type of marriage bed will bring an additional element of luxury and style in the bedroom.

The name refers to all the beds that have posts in the corners from which curtains are elegantly suspended. Frames for such beds can also be bought separately and they come in different styles.

Even though four-poster beds are considered to be a luxury detail today, they are made for purely pragmatic reasons. To clarify, the fabrics is not on the bed not for aesthetic reasons, but because people needed protection against insects.

Furthermore, by drawing the curtains around the bed, people would get a stronger feeling of intimacy, as people used to live in much smaller rooms and frequently shared bedrooms with several other people.

Murphy bed – The bed was named after its inventor, Murphy, who designed it in the early 19th century.

William Murphy’s apartment only had one room and he did not want it to be too crammed, so he found a way to hide the bed.

William subsequently founded a company that produced and sold such beds.

Platform bed – This is pretty minimalist version of a bed. It does not have big frames or legs. It is usually a wooden or metal platform holding a mattress.

People buy these beds for several reasons. Some like the simple, minimalist design that is slightly reminiscent of Japanese as well as modern, contemporary style. Some like them precisely because they do not have huge, massive frames. The beds’ good side is that they are very comfortable.

Sleigh bed – This design is very popular in the USA and, to a slightly lesser degree, in Europe, which is odd because that is where it was originally produced.

The design was named after the sleigh, which it resembles. It was first designed in France and an American craftsman picked up the idea later in the 19th century. Today, the design of these beds varies, from those with the antique look to contemporary style.

This type of bed lends an artistic element to the bedroom, but its appearance obscures all the other furniture because the design tends to dominate space.

Water bed – It has a long history. Persians used to sleep on beds made of goat skin and filled with water. The first water bed patent was registered in 1851, but unfortunately the technology at the time did not make it possible to turn the idea into reality. The first PVC water mattress was designed by Charles Hall in 1960. Today, water beds also have a special feature that allows one to regulate water temperature. Because they do not collect dust and mites, the beds are ideal for people who have problems with allergies.
