Graffiti and Roses on Louis Vuitton Handbags

Text

Marc Jacobs decided again to use the patterns of famous graphic artist Stephen Sprouse with which he will cover the LV monogram.

The creative director of the Luis Vuitton fashion company, Marc Jacobs, took his clothes off for the latest issue of Harper’s Bazar to commemorate the late Stephen Sprouse, a famous graphic artist whose graffiti will soon be put on Louis Vuitton accessories.

- I tried to take what Stephen had done at Vuitton and then kind of flip it in my head, and make it Vuitton's work for Stephen, not Stephen's work for Vuitton – Jacobs said.

The creative director decided to use Sprouse’s two famous motifs, graffiti and a rose and coloured the green, pink and orange to cover the recognisable Louis Vuittor monogram.

Apart from Keepall, Speedy and Neverfull handbags, the prints will also find their way to high-top tennis shoes, high heeled shoes, glasses, scarves and leather accessories.

Jacobs cooperated with Sprouse in 2001, three year before he died. Now history will repeat itself with a limited series that will be put up for sale in LV stores on January 9.
