An employee of the jewelry chain in Johannesburg tried to steal the gold by hiding it in the chicken, South African daily writes on Wednesday.

He was arrested with chicken filled with gold after passing the metal detectors at the jewelry store headquarters, Beeld writes.

He is currently in court for attempted theft and possession of stolen property.
