High Heels: How To Survive With Style

Text

Wearing high heels for a long time can cause back and feet pain. We bring you a few tips on how to avoid the unpleasant feeling.

Victoria Beckham was spotted this weekend at a park, wearing Christian Louboutin shoes with 12 cm heels. Her nearly crushed feet made us ask: how can you survive in such high heels? Guardian magazine published a few useful tops on how to survive an entire day wearing stilettos.

Six golden tips-.--.-Shoes

1. Wear comfortable pads inside the shoes. Fashion editors always put the Dr. Scholl gel cushions, even in the most expensive of designer shoes, which prevents the burning sensation in the feet for at least a few hours.

2. Take painkillers. The ratio is roughly one Nurofen to every 10 centimetres of heel.

3. Wear your stockings right so that they are tight enough, without falling down all the time. Of course, don`t allow your feet to get too hot, because this will cause perspiration and it can lead to swelling.

4. Wear the right shoe size. Contrary to the impression Victoria Beckham gives, it is not good to wear a larger size. This way, the toes are pushed to the top of the shoe even more. Gravity pushes the foot forward when the heels are high, but you can get good results by filling the space between your toes and the top of the shoes with cotton wool, thus preventing the sliding effect.

5. Use the Alexander technique: your head should be up, your legs should be moving from the stomach and not your hips, while the toes must touch the ground by all means.

6. Accept the fact that seating always beats standing up, no matter how far away from the action you might end up.

And if nothing else works…

Wear Wellingtones. During her Sunday fashion show, Miuccia Prada dressed her models in high baggy boots with chunky flat soles. It looks very comfortable, especially if worn with trousers.
