A bath will soften up the skin, a cream will nourish the feet and your hands will give them a massage.
Heavy and closed up footwear we have been wearing throughout rainy and snowy days, like tennis shoes, boots and shoes, will soon be thrown away and we will put on open toe sandals, mules and flip-flops. Although we can hardly wait for high temperatures which will make it possible to walk around in light footwear, it would be smart to use this short period we have left and nourish out feet and nails so that we can shine.
A bubble bath is the best way to startSoothing footbath
Mix a spoon of menthol, 8 teaspoons of borax and 10 spoons of Magnesium sulfate. Add it to hot water and soak your feet in it. A bath should not last less than 10 minutes.
When we talk about foot care, the most important thing is to take care of the heels, i.e. skin which becomes rough for almost everyone. If it is not scraped with a pumice stone and not moisturized with foot lotion, the skin can become so rough and thick that it breaks in the end, causing a wound which is hard to take care of. Seeing how the feet carry all of our weight, such a wound is truly painful and it would be best to avoid it.
This means that the first and foremost rule is to take care of the rough skin on your heels. Let`˙s move on.
Feet need to be washed with soap during you everyday showers and thoroughly dried to avoid fungus. Whenever you get a chance, take some time and give your feet a warm 10-minute soak with some mineral or sea salts and a few lavender essential oil drops. It is recommended you massage your feet after a bath to stimulate circulation and lessen the swelling. These useful and practical tips go for men and women of all ages.
Exfoliate and finish “trimming” nails
If you wish, you can exfoliate your feet. Such products can be purchased in all drugstores, but you can also exfoliate with homemade products. Mix a glass of large sea salt or bath salt with olive oil.
Get your feet wet and massage them vigorously with the mixture of salt and oil, for as long as you want. In the end, rinse well with lukewarm water to get the oil out.
Toenails also need to be trimmed regularly. It is best to clip them in a straight line with scissors or nail clippers and slightly round the edges with a file so that they do not grow in. To additionally point out their beauty, apply nail polish. It depends on you whether you would like a colourless shade or a cool one. This spring and summer, dark colours like black, dark purple, dark red and dark blue and trendy, but it would be best to match the colour of your toenail varnish with the colour of your sandals or flip-flops, i.e. swimsuit.
