Smoking in average shortens life by 10 years.
Obesity is much more dangerous even than smoking and can dramatically shorten one’s life, a vast
research shows.
Smoking in average shortens life by 10 years, while overweight people can die even 13 years earlier due to their weight.
250 outstanding British scientists wrote a report based on research showing that obesity in Great Britain is so serious that they will need 30 years to go back to the previous situation.
If nowadays trend rolls on, 60% of men, 50% of women and 25% of children in Great Britain will be clinically overweight by 2050. Their health will be seriously in danger.
Such consequences could be ruinous for the health of the national average. Vascular diseases
would increase by 20% and the frequency of strokes would grow by 30%.
The number of people who suffer from diabetes and some sorts of cancer would also be much higher.
Scientists say that the modern way of living is the biggest culprit for obesity. People rely on technology more and more, they move less and they can always afford cheap, unhealthy food. Scientists say that it is actually impossible not to gain weight this way. If we gain a little weight every day, what will we look like after 365 days?
Scientists believe that only big cultural changes can stop an obesity epidemic, the DailyMail reports.
