Olivier Theyskens Leaving Nina Ricci?

The rumour is that Nina Ricci will not extend the contract to the company`s creative director and Hollywood favourite, Olivier Theyskens.

The fashion world is buzzing with the rumours that fashion home Nina Ricci will not extend the contract to its creative director Olivier Theyskens, which will expire in October. Mario Frauso, vice president of the Puig Fashion company, which owns Nina Ricci, voiced about the rumours, saying that it was not in their interest to let their star designer go so fast.

- At this point, we're very happy with his contribution. I look forward to seeing his next show, after which we'll start the negotiations, which is typical – Grauso told WWD.

The Belgian designer joined the fashion home at the end of 2006, while he presented his first collection for the home in March 2007.

Looking back n his work, as powerful contrast, compared to the clothes he created for Rochas, Sarah Mower of style.com said that Theyskens actually predicts the fact that fashion needs to be elevated to a higher, comfortable level of dressing.
