On The Pill, Gives Birth To Two Sets Of Twins

Briton Carly has been on the pill since she was 17. She beat the odds of 1:11 million and had two sets of twins in two years.

Briton Carly O`Brien (22) from Portsmouth Hants, gave birth to two sets of twins, even though she was using birth control pills the entire time, the Daily Mail writes.

Carly and her partner John Grant were astonished when she had her first twins, Brandon and Daisy in 2006. Two years later, the miracle happened again – Carly had twins once again: boy Dylan and girl Lilly.

She could not believe she was pregnant even though she had been using birth control pills. She has been on the pill since she was 17, because she never planned to have children and was astonished when the pregnancy test showed she was pregnant.

After the accident which resulted in the first set of twins, Carly decided to star using a more powerful contraceptive pill. However, 18 months later, she was pregnant with twins once again.

- Everyone I've spoken to, all my friends and family and even the staff at the hospital, say they have never known anything like it – Carly told the Daily Mail.

She admitted that at first, she and her partner were not thrilled about having four children, but now, they are happy.

The chances of someone becoming pregnant and using contraceptive pills are 1:99, and it is possible that she conceived twins both times while being on the pill, because her body has produced more eggs, trying to prevent fertilization.
