Paul Smith Hosts New Fashion Book Launch

One of the world`s leading menswear designers, Paul Smith, hosted the launch of a new book by Hywel Davies.

As he has been the leading lights of menswear for the past 30 years, Paul Smith, seemed to be the perfect host for the launch of new fashion book “Modern Menswear” last week in London. Guests squeezed into the intimate space of Smith`s boutique to have a drink with the author, fashion writer Hywel Davies, surrounded by chic mess in Smith`s legendary shop, Vogue writes.

- I am always ready to help young designers in any creative field. The party has brought together lots of students and designers; it's great fun – said Smith, who is currently busy with finishing his womenswear collection, which will be presented in Paris in a few weeks.

The designer was profiled in the book as well, while Jay Kay, the singer of Jamiroquai, is featured on the cover.

- There are so many menswear books that focus on men's style in the Sixties and Seventies. I thought it was about time there was one about who's doing what today – said the author, Hywel Davies.
