PHOTO: Bread & Butter – Creators and Buyers Meet

One of the most visited fashion fairs, Bread & Butter, is a place where fashion industry creators come to cash in on their work.

In Barcelona, Bread & Butter hosted chosen brands that exhibit their collections for autumn/winter 2009/2010 from January 21 to 23. The international fair for street and urban clothing contains a marketing and communications platform for brands, lines and designers that work with denim, sports clothing, street fashion, functional and casual clothing, and suppliers from the textile industry.

The leading international fair is the central point for buyers to meet with manufacturers. Unlike other fashion events, Bread & Butter reflects the culture and philosophy of selected brands of fashion companies that show their products.

Combining inspiration and business via the slogan “Fun & Profit”, the first Bread & Butter fair was held in 2001, and in a short period of time it became a compulsory destination for the largest fashion events in the world.

This season’s motto is “United Nations of Bread and Butter”, and will be visited by more than 100,000 people. Whilst fashion critics and buyers can enjoy the presentation of more than 800 leading brands through a rich program that includes interesting seminars, unusual exhibits, innovative competitions, attractive fashion shows and unforgettable parties. Last season the Croatia product from the company Borovo, the sneakers Startas, appeared at the fair. The shoes had a complete makeover thanks to the young designer Mauro Massarotto, and attracted the attention of many buyers at the fair. The shoes have started their way to conquering the rest of the world by entering the boutiques: Henrik Vibskov in Copenhagen, Weekday by Cheap Monday in Stockholm, Le Swing and Jordi Labanda in Barcelona, Shop in Athens… etc.
