Around the world, we can find many fascinating buildings, but now we will show you one that will leave you breathless.

If you love low temperatures, beautiful forests, mountain hiking, skiing, snowball fights and other winter activities in the snow and ice, then pack your bags and take the first flight to Canada.

10 kilometres east of Quebec City, near Motmorency Falls in the region of Duchesney, on the banks of St. Joseph Lake, you will find the first ice hotel in North America, that is built every January called Ice Hotel Glace.

When it opened in 2000, it had 22 beds. However, now that number has risen to a respectable 85 beds, that are completely made of ice, but covered in reindeer fur, mattresses and arctic sleeping bags. Only the bathrooms are heated, they are located in special isolated rooms.

Interior

This hotel is usually built (architecture and size can vary from season to season) from 4,750 tonnes of sculptured ice and 15,000 tonnes of snow, creating arches over rooms that are 5 meters high.

In the icy complex, you can find 2 art galleries, a cinema, bars and a chapel that you can get married in. On average, the walls are 1.2 meters thick, inside of which the furniture is also made of ice.

Wide assortment

The program of this innovative business includes snowmobile rides, skating, helicopter rides over Quebec City, ice fishing, cross-country skiing and much, much more. However, if you are not the adventurous type, you will not be disappointed.

There are romantic dinners on offer that you can spend with you loved one, organized parties for you and your friends, or you can ever go there with you business colleagues for team-building. There are also happy hours, cocktail dinners, disco nights, themed dinners, school activities, seminars and meetings, corporate events, video productions and organized Christmas celebrations. If you are tired of making snowmen, here you can make ice sculptures and igloos.

All in all, this imaginative ice kingdom will certainly not disappoint those that prefer summer. Take a look at how all of this looks in the PHOTOGALLERY, and then book the next flight to Canada!
