PARIS FASHION WEEK
MARCH 7 2009 13:52h
Exciting scenes are behind us – high platforms for Nina Ricci, floral cocktail dresses by Galliano and Fatima Lopez`s black & white combos.
It is hard to describe the events of Paris Fashion Week in just a few words. It was absolutely exciting, which was evident just by looking at the faces of Milla Jovovich, Charlize Theron and Bernard Arnault as they took their seats before the start of Dior`s fashion show. Some designers got the effect of excitement, others the effect of beauty, while the most competent combined both.
We can say that Nina Ricci`s show introduced something new and included something old, with the emphasis on youthful years, but with a much darker look. Nearly a romantic collection for Belgian designer Olivier Theyskens, who sent his models down the catwalk in huge 20 centimetre platform shoes.
John Galliano`s old England
A great hit for the 2009/2010 autumn/winter season were creations by John Galliano, who offered a sweetish style and old England charm. His models wore black and shocking pink, with mandatory hats, while hairstyles of various colour were spotted, because highlights are in for Galliano. He decorated the stage with associations of a mechanical workshop with colourful cocktail dresses.
Fatima Lopez created black and white combinations with mandatory fashion details in hair, while Gaspard Yurkievich`s show included more colour by far. Brown, red and violet were dominant.
