Americans are crazy about classics, which was proven by their enthusiasm for Oscar De La Renta.
In the fashion hysteria that has taken over New York during the fashion week, one of the leading roles go to classic Oscar De La Renta, a painter who came in contact with fashion drawing for big
names: Lanvin, Balenciaga, Castillo, etc. But there is one name that will follow him eternally and raise his reputation: Dior. De La Renta worked as a designer on Dior’s ready-to-wear collection.
Classic and tradition
After he became independent his name remained in the fashion world and his current collection for spring 2008 filled the front rows with the most famous fans of fashion and the American jet set. De La Renta’s recognisable style dresses an audience just like this.
The clothing items he presented ooze elegance and strict lines, but he softened them with effective fabrics. It is evident why Mrs. Beckham took the first row position during his show. But the pensioner classic and ready-to-wear style behind De la Renta’s signature is what Americans are crazy for.
