An aristocrat and unbridled like a Bohemian – these are the characteristics of a man launched by the D&G duo on the catwalk.
Donatella Versace`s vision of a man in her 2009/2010 autumn/winter collection is Mr. Cool, an iconic Hollywood star from the 1920s and 1930s. Rigid cuts were softened up by knitting, while tight T-shirts with collars in white, blue and grey tones were the synonym for every occasion. However, Versace`s man had the adjective casual, which was evident in jackets with plenty of pockets and coats that are tied around the waist like housecoats – see them HERE.
Giorgio Armani kept things sleek with elegant classic cuts and a palette of green, blue and black colours, with deep blue as refreshment. Interesting cuts with widened shoulders came in the shape of velvet jackets, while the metallic silver jackets left a bit of a futuristic impression – see them HERE.
Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana said: “Long live Bohemians!”, with their D&G line, intended for the younger audience. Their 2009/2010 autumn/winter collection includes many costume elements; it is a mixture of traditional English cuts and uniforms, under which printed T-shirts are hidden, showing Oscar Wilde or Jacques-Louis Davids` Leonidas at Thermopylae – take a look HERE.
