Much to the owner`s surprise, his sow had a hermaphrodite piglet. It is healthy and rather cheerful.

A sow in Donji Andrijasevci, Croatia has had a piglet of both genders. Hermaphroditism is the appearance of one organism having both male and female reproductive organs.

Hermaphroditism is quite rare in vertebrates. Such a change can occur amidst genetic mutations, or as a consequence or certain systematic viral infections.
