Famous fashion designer Hiroko Koshino has opened her own exhibition at the Museum For Arts and Crafts in Zagreb.

Modni ormar (“Fashion Wardrobe” manifestation) has opened its doors to international guests, among which is Japanese fashion designer Hiroko Koshino, who personally opened her exhibit at the Zagreb Museum For Arts and Crafts. She exhibited 10 haute couture dresses, made from various materials: silk, gaze, wool, yarn. Powerful colours and a combination of materials delighted with the impression that was borderline garments and costumes. But, clearly Hiroko draws her inspiration in nature and traditional kimonos, which are transformed with western elements.

Hiroko was born in 1937 in Kishiwada. She graduated from the famous Bunka Fashion College, which was also attended by Mitsuhiro Matsuda, Kenzo Takada and Yoji Yamamoto at the time. She opened her studio in Osaka in 1964 and designed haute couture. After 14 years, she joined Alta Modi in Rome as the first Japanese designer in Italy. Her dresses gave freshness and excitement and the presentation was so sensational that Hiroko was featured on 30 pages of Harper`s Bazaar. In the 80`s she started licensing business of ready-to-wear in the right lines and today, her name stands behind accessories and fragrances.

Identity of this designer is: beauty born in the harmony of the east and the west.
