Josipa Kusic, who is from Imotski, was chosen to be the new Miss Croatia for 2008. The first runner up is Sara Vulinovic Zlatan, and the second is Isabell Brezovic.
The excited and newly elected Miss. Croatia, Josipa Kusic, shared her first impressions after she was elected.
- Wow, I can not believe it, I am still not aware that they said my name. I am happy and I hope that I will not disappoint anyone. I really did not expect to win, because there were so many beautiful girls – said Josipa Kusic excitedly, holding the keys to her new Chevrolet Aveo. Even though she does not have a driver’s license, Josipa says that she knows how to drive, and doubts that she will be able to resist going for a drive, even without her license.
Mister Croatia for 2008 is Dino Bubicic, who won a scooter. The first runner up was Predrag Platisa, whilst the second was Enes Muratagic.
The new Mister Croatia, Dino Bubicic, was self-confident from the beginning, unlike Josipa. He gave us his views visibly calmer than Josipa, a few seconds after being elected.
- I had a lot of self confidence from the beginning, which does not mean that I was convinced that I would win, but of course I hoped. I am happy and excited, and I hope that I will justify all expectations – said the new Mister Croatia, Dino Bubicic.
The newly elected Miss Croatia won a Chevrolet Aveo. It was the girl from Imotski that answered the questions that Javno’s readers asked, and she also did not want to answer what the naughtiest thing that she ever did was.
Brilliantine style show
The program started with an attractive performance by Jacques Houdek and the actress Mila Elegovic. Their dancers were the potential Misters and Misses who showed envious dancing talent.
All night, the show was in the style of the legendary musical “Brilliantine”, so the singer Sandi Cenov performed in a tight leather suit with two attractive dancers.
Semi-finalists answer tricky questions
Six female and six male semi-finalists came out dressed in evening dresses and suits, wearing expensive jewellery and watches, and had to answer questions from a “lady from a bazaar”.
Barbara Maricevic answered that she comes from a village family, and added that she would marry a villager.
Sara Vulinovic Zlatan said that she does not make cheese, but knows from general knowledge that it takes ten litres of milk to make one kilogram of cheese.
Miss Croatia Josipa Kusic demonstrated Imotski-style humour by saying that the most handsome gentleman in the panel of judges has the surname “Mujo” because “she always wanted to be Fata” (alluding to the series of jokes including the married couple Mujo and Fata).
Finalists: photogenic and congeniality
After the appearance of the contestants in Lisca swimwear, the girls wearing pink and the boys wearing blue, Mister congeniality was awarded to Dean Margeta and Miss congeniality was awarded to Antonija Simunic.
During the night, the photographers decided who the most photogenic finalists were. They came up with the names Predrag Platisa and Sara Vulinovic Zlatan.
During the night, the finalists were presented to the public by the hosts of the show Mirko Fodor and the actress Mila Elegovic. Last year’s winners Tatjana Jeremic and Alen Kostelac had to give up their crowns at the event.
Whilst the female semi-finalists answered questions, the male semi-finalists performed their “talent show”
Enes Muratagic made took care of the atmosphere with a song originally by Zdravko Colic “Forget, Forget Fashion”. Ante Gospic sang “I’m a Dalmatian”. Stipe Tomas energetically sang Thompson’s song “You Are Beautiful”.
Unlike his opponent singers, Predrag Platisa showed his boxing talents in a very humorous way.
