Apart from their collections, the designers thrilled the critics with their installations and designer Zalevski used worms as inspiration.

The 11th Kiev Fashion Week took place at the ACCO International Centre in Ukraine’s capital, at which the Ukrainians proved once again that they speak the Haute Couture language. Many of the designers at this year’s fashion week decided to have a sort of show, so they put up installations along with their collections, of which that of Andre Tan stood out. He posed very close to photographers without any clothes on. The designer justified his escapade to nudism with his wish to imitate the pose of the fantastic Yves Saint Laurent, but his idea was met by criticism from the critics, Whatson-kiev.com reported.

Olekiy Zalevski disappointed with his collection, primarily because he said it was inspired by worms.

Elena Burenina also presented her collection which was made from light materials, while Oksana Karavanska thrilled both with her designs and her presentation.
So he put his imagination into work and his collection was found to be clumsy, but the critics said it was still wearable, despite the worms.

Among female designers, Liliya Litkovskaya and Oksana Karavanska stood out. Litkovskaya, who promised a lot, disappointed the audience with her collection. The critics said she used too much black and too many dark colours. But critics seemed to me mostly irritated by her dedication to grunge. Not even rain coats from organza did not soften up the critics, who said they were too dimensional.

Oksana Karavanska thrills with ethnic motifs

As opposed to Litkovskaya, Oksana Karavanska thrilled the critics with her collection both with her designs and her presentation. The designer decided to use the work of ethno-artist Maria Pryimachenko and the motif of the collection were drawings of naïve art. The designer relied on lightness of colour and graphics. Various dresses in the collection presented a symbol of innocence for Karavanska. Dominating her collection was the colour white with prints of Ukrainian animals on the blouses. Karavanska did not fail with accessories, either. She dared to return cowboy boots to the catwalk, which the other designers tried to avoid. In any case, the designer managed to combine a complete outfit for Ukrainian women, which does not lack taste or style.

Elena Burenina also presented her collection. Burenina’s collection was made from light materials. Models wore decorations made out of dried fruit in their hair and the traditional braid on top of their hair, with which the designer tried to evoke spring. Apart from light materials, the collection also had sweaters in darker colours made out of thick knitwear.
