PHOTO: New Hit: Bags That Turn Into Skirts

Ivana Barac presented unique bags that turn into a skirt with the help of a patented fastener.

The fashion designer Ivana Barac presented her fashion concept called “Bag as a Dress, Dress as a Bag”. A fashion show that was held at Zagreb’s “Europa” theatre presented the intriguing multifunctional flirting between the fashion accessory – bag, and the clothing item – skirt – with the help of the patented fastener. Ivana Barac found inspiration for her creations in her fascination with life’s changes, metamorphoses, transformations – looking for a new solution that will give clothing purpose without violating aesthetic rules. Bags that turn into skirts, and back, do not isolate you from trends with their uniqueness, and come in 14 different models and four colours: black, brown, grey and white.

About the designer:

Ivana Barac was born in Dubrovnik. By profession she is a restorer of stone and archaeological materials. Her interest in fashion came through conceiving and designing modern women’s bags with simple shapes, which she has been making independently for a few years now. On the basis of positive reactions, and recognizing fashion as a field for the realisation of her creativity, she has fully dedicated herself to fashion as a life calling. Currently she is a third year student at the “Profokus” college in Zagreb.

She has graduated at the “Istituto di moda – Burgo” in Milan where she perfected construction. The collection “Bag as a Skirt, Skirt as a Bag” (2008) is her first solo presentation to the public, and is also an opportunity for presenting her website: www.ivanabarac.com.
