The most bizarre wellness treatments

Have you ever tried a diamond mask treatment, massage done by snakes or had yourself poked with cactus soaked in tequila? Some people have.

Times when the wellness was confined to a relaxing massage followed by a soft music and incenses are over; the new exotic treatments are both relaxing and provide a dose of adrenaline and fun.

1. Japanese bath without water

Treatment that comes from the land of the rising sun consists of swimming in a substance that contains water. A user swims in milled rice and various spices that are heated and fermented together. They supposedly remove toxins from the body.

Bath that has a soothing effect on the nervous system is being implemented in California (Osmosis), and the ingredients are imported from Japan.

2. Diamond Mask

Diamonds and pearls not only serve as jewelry, but they also affect the internal beauty. Applied to the face in a mask, they are believed to remove fine wrinkles and skin imperfections. Treatment that is offered in the Ritz Carlton hotel in Florida costs 260 euros.

3. Massage with a golf ball

People who have problems with muscles believe in the miraculous effects golf balls. Sports massage reaches deeply into the muscles and it is done exclusively with a help of a heated golf ball.

Forbes says that this massage is best performed in the Four Seasons hotels, but it adds that it can be conducted at home as well.

4. Snakes massage

Although snakes crawling on one’s back sounds like an adventure reserved for only the bravest, it is a very effective relaxation massage. It is conducted in northern Israel’s Barak-Spa wellness center, where, apparently, it did not cause any ‘accidents’.

The size of the snake depends on the type of massage. While larger snakes relieve deep muscle tension, smaller ones create a light, vibrating effect.

 5. Cactus and Tequila

Cactus leaves dipped in tequila are a base ingredient for the so-called ‘hakali’ massage. It was devised by the Mexicans who guarantee supreme, poking-free, experience and who believe in the relaxing effects of alcohol.
