Vera Wang Enters Figure Skating Hall of Fame

Because Vera designs costumes for the performances of American Olympic skaters, she gained a position in the Figure Skating Hall of Fame.

As an eight year old girl, Vera dreamt that she would become a successful skater, but those dreams broke like a bubble when she did not make the American team for the Winter Olympics in 1968.

“Skating was a chance for me to express myself in a creative way. The American designer of Chinese descent worked as an editor in Vogue magazine, and when she decided to start her own fashion house, after being talked into it by her father who is a skilful businessman, she specialised in wedding dresses.
