Israeli dogs run, crawl and attack on command at an international dog show in Tel Aviv.

As always at such events, preparation is key, preening obligatory. The merits of one pampered pooch over another were hotly-debated by judges, owners and spectators alike at an international dog show in Tel Aviv.

Some two hundred breeds posed for the cameras all gussied up by proud owners.

They vaulted through hoops and hot-footed it around obstacles in the agility contest the most popular of the various tests of skill and smarts.

Another crowd-pleaser came from specially trained attack dogs with their Israeli trainers donning heavy padding for protection.

A good time appeared to be had by almost all, but at the end of a long day of performing, many just wanted to get on home and have that treat.
