79 CDs, produced by the Thomas Nelson Company, contain 90 hours of the Old and New Testament read by many famous actors.
Over six hundred actors teamed up in a unique project in which they ‘borrowed’ their voices to characters from the Bible. A total of 79 CDs contain 90 hours of the Old and New Testaments, and feature the voices of many famous actors.
Jesus, just like in the Gibson’s Passion of the Christ, was interpreted by Jim Caviezel, the Jahweh is the British actor Martin Jarvis, Richard Dreyfuss is Moses, Noah is played by Max von Sydow, Abraham was Jon Voight, Gary Sinise reads David, and Malcolm McDowell was King Solomon.
Jason Alexander, known for his role of George from Seinfeld, borrowed his voice to Joseph’s character; the Virgin Mary is Kimberly Williams-Paisley, of the series The World According to Jim, while Judas was interpreted by Luke Perry, who played Dylan in Beverly Hills.
The audio version of the Bible was released by the Thomas Nelson Company which specializes in Christian books, and the fragments can be heard on the project’s official website.
