Ivica Klaric showed that he can create clothing items that become an item of yearning for many.
VARAZDIN, CROATIA - The public as a mirror to style and trend. If everybody dressed like this every day, the world would be a lot nicer.
However, the ambience of the Varteks hall was what made Quelle Fashion.hr autumn/winter 2008/2009 magical. Even though many Croatian fashion experts said that it is not necessary to go a
season ahead, it seems that those days have come to an end. The Croatian fashion designers have things to announce, and their visions have nearly reached world standards. However, there is a final fight for existence that causes them to pull back their imagination, and think about what the market wants. Fashion.hr has thought of excellent ideas, and in cooperation with the European catalogue giant Quelle, has ensured that their collection will sell via their paper issues as well as over the internet.
Even in his high school days, young fashion designer Igor Galas found his pleasure in a bundle of wool. He decided to step away from his traditional approach for his autumn/winter 2008/2009 collection, and combined natural materials with synthetic ones, mixing soft and harsh materials. He created an additional effect with the layered line-up of clothing items. He offers contrasting colours with his grey woollen vest combined with pants and a shirt in black or white. Igor designs for her and for him.
Ivica Klaric’s collection knows no boundaries as far as the occasion and age are concerned – they are here for anyone to put on anytime. It is as if he adds interesting details to his creations with a magical wand. It is as if he holds something in his hands and shouts “I know where I’ll put this!”. Amongst other things, some interesting details found a place around the pocket opening, and curiously peek out of the stitching of the clothing item. This is proof that minimalism is becoming more complicated. They use tones of grey, black, white, beige and brown. Without any trouble, Ivica Klaric showed that he can create clothing items that become an item of yearning for many. He knows what he wants, and aims for a certain win. Irresistible, wearable.
Branka Donassy’s collection is marked by her recognizable black, refreshed with earthly tones and soft mixtures of purple. Minimalism is the main theme, but it is broken by the imaginative jewellery by Nenad Roban. It is a match between Branka’s softness and Nenad’s wire pieces. The designer’s fascination with wavy surfaces knows no boundaries. It takes control of the textures in the knitting, or uses existing materials with the effects of crepe paper. She separates the cloth from the body, offering freedom of movement. Her female creations gently touches the body on the shoulders, or planned at the waist, or at the wrists, which sharply reduces the airy sleeves. There are also puffy skirts and dresses, discrete femininity.
Ivica Skoko was inspired by traditional Scottish tartan. Shirts, dresses, high-waistline pants, dark colours in contrast to the chequered pattern of vivid colours, crystals and shells, as well as flowery hats are all in Skoko’s collection for the evening.
Modern people need a modern suit. Varteks presented a collection of the line Di Caprio M&W. According to world trends in the fashion industry, ecologically acceptable fabrics were used in the collection. Dark colours dominate the collection, refreshed by thin ties on the men’s suits. Of course, there are suits for the fairer sex as well. Their aim is the public who are looking for comfortable and modern clothing for their new business projects.

Every catwalk has its backstage. The hurry, panic, counting the minutes… The hairdressers, makeup artists, stylists, designers, models, racks full of clothes – madness in a small amount of space. Take a look at the chaos for yourself HERE. Or you can watch the VIDEO.
