VideoThey cannot imagine an intimate emotional and sexual relationship with people, but when it comes to objects…
Objectum sexuals are people who fall in love with objects. Usually buildings, cars or some parts of machinery. The things mostly have special functions or design. Still, this is not pure admiration, but true love.
Objectum sexuals cannot imagine an intimate emotional and sexual relationship with people, but when it comes to desirable objects, they are best friends, lovers, spouses even. Just like with any other form of sexuality, objectum sexualism can be homosexual and heterosexual.
Wide of The Berlin Wall
One of the most famous objectum sexuals is Eija-Riitta Berliner-Mauer, born in 1954 who is a resident of Liden, village in Northern Sweden. The love of her life is the Berlin Wall.
She openly writes about her unusual sexuality on her web site, dedicated to her beloved, and she considers the Berlin Wall to be her husband. She fell in love with it as a girl, at first sight.
- It was very much a long distance romance as neither of us likes to travel. For much of the time, I had to make do with photos of him. And of course seeing him in newspapers and on the television. But the distance between us only served to intensify our feelings for each other. We eventually married on June 17, 1979 at Groß-Ziethener Straße in Berlin. On that day I took my husband's name, Berliner-Mauer. That is "Berlin Wall" in German, which is my husband's first language – Eija-Riitta`s web site reads.
The Berlin Wall`s wife writes that just like in any relationship, theirs has its ups and downs and she had the hardest time when the Berlin Wall was knocked down. Still, this is a love which is as strong today as it was the first day.
Life-long commitment with the Eiffel Tower
Erika La Tour Eiffel is also known as an objectum sexual. She has legalised her relationship with the Eiffel Tower. Her first love was an arch she used to become a top archer.
Just like Eija-Riitta, she fancied the Berlin Wall, but the Eiffel Tower is the love of her life. After the wedding ceremony, witnessed by her friends, she officially changed her name and took her husband’s surname.
Jerry Brooker is a New York psychotherapist interviewed by Channel 5 as they were shooting a documentary on this unusual fetish. He explained what the thing of the matter was.
- Someone who falls in love with objects can control that relationship on their own terms. Their objects will not let them down. That is extremely attractive for a person who is otherwise often desperately lonely – Brooker believes, the Telegraph writes.
Obsessively attached to the Guillotine
Loves for the locomotive, iBook and radio are quite well-known and surely the one for the Guillotine is most interesting.
The Swedish woman who married the Berlin Wall was nicknamed Madame Guillotine because she spent her entire life gathering documents and photos of it. She even opened up a museum dedicated to the device in her basement. Find out more about her love in the attached video.
