Abramovic bought Chelsea in 2003 for 60 million pounds, and took over 80 million in debt, and turned the club in one of Europe´s strongest.
The Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich is preparing to sell Chelsea to the interested Arabs, reports Times Online.
Arab sources said for The Sunday Times that Abramovich’s representatives travelled to Saudi Arabia. They said that they will then meet with potential buyers in Dubai.
Chelsea’s spokesperson said that it was totally silly, and that the Russian does not plan on selling the club.
Abramovich came to Chelsea in 2003 when he bought it for 60 million pounds, and took over 80 million pounds in debt. Up until now he has spent 500 million pounds and created a team that has won the Premier League twice and achieved significant results in the Champion’s League.
According to some sources, to buy the English team, somebody would have to pay around 800 million pounds, which would be welcome to Abramovich after he lost around three billion to the world economic crisis.
