Al Turk Protests Against Cro Cop`s Eye-Poking Win

We are going to appeal that, we don`t think its right that it should be a TKO, Al Turk`s agent said.

Mostapha Al Turk was deservedly defeated by Mirko Filipovic Cro Cop, but as Filipovic administered the key blows, he poked Al Turk in the eye with his finger, which distracted the fighter. His defeat has been given a different context and Al Turk`s team will appeal to the UFC.

- We are going to appeal that, we don`t think its right that it should be a TKO. The referee should have got onto the eye poke - Al-Turk`s agent Ken Pavia told Fighterkicker.

He refered to Henderson and Franklin`s fight which took place 16 years ago in Dublin, when Franklin was given a break after being poked in the eye. This happened at the start of the UFC, but the rules have not changed that much.

- With the fight taking place in Germany we aren't sure what the protocol is, but we will put our appeal in writing and see what we can do - Ken Pavia said in the end.
