A field of 32 is expected for the tournament, which struggled to find sponsorship support in recent years without top stars playing.
Atlanta was officially added to the 2010 ATP Tour schedule in place of Indianapolis on Thursday, the hardcourt event set to keep its dates of July 19-25 despite the venue relocation.
The event was awarded to the southern section of the US Tennis Association (USTA) and will remain the first US hardcourt tournament after Wimbledon, the launch of tune-up events for the US Open.
- We wish the tournament every success and are delighted we could find a way to work with the USTA to achieve this outcome - ATP Americas chief executive Mark Young said.
American journeyman Robby Ginepri won the title in 2009.
