Text

Overnight leader and local hero Danny Chia was a further stroke behind after slipping badly with a 74.

Australia's Adam Blyth shot a six-under-par 66 on Saturday to grab a one-stroke lead going into the final round at the $2 million Malaysian Open.

Blyth, chasing a first tour title, fired an eagle on the 13th as he finished on 14-under, just ahead of China's Liang Wenchong and Swede Alexander Noren.

England's Miles Tunnicliff, who recorded the day's best round of 63, was among a group of three players two shots off the lead in the tournament co-sanctioned by the European and Asian Tours.

Overnight leader and local hero Danny Chia was a further stroke behind after slipping badly with a 74.

Blyth, 27, made his professional debut at the tournament in 2005.

"It would mean the world if I can win any tournament, but here would be great," he told reporters. "But it's a long way away and we don't want to get ahead of ourselves."

Liang closed the day with two birdies for a five-under-par 67.

"I was steady off the tee and my putting was also very good," he told reporters.

Noren holed a 30-foot birdie putt at the last to stay in the mix while Prayad Marksaeng, one of the players two shots off the pace, had a chip-in eagle and birdie in his last two holes to keep pace with a card of 65.
