WIMBLEDON/NADAL

Second seed Rafael Nadal pummelled little-known Austrian Werner Eschauer into the Centre Court turf at Wimbledon.
The Spaniard overpowered the 33-year-old 6-2 6-4 6-1 with ruthless efficiency to set up a meeting with Sweden's Robin Soderling.
Only in the second set did Eschauer manage to keep pace with the 21-year-old triple French Open champion but he was broken at 3-3 after leaving a fizzing Nadal forehand that landed in.
The third set was a formality and Nadal's forehand ran riot as 72nd-ranked Eschauer faded back into obscurity.
