Kobe Bryant has become the youngest player in history to reach 19,000 points.
Croatian basketball player Damir Markota for the second time in five days scored five points for the Milwaukee Bucks, who lost on their home court to the New Orleans Hornets 119:101.
The ex Cibona player in only five minutes scored 5 points (throwing 2:5), and had one steal, one jump and a block. For Markota these five points are a big result, considering he has a modest amount of game play. Up until now, the most he has scored is eight, against the Clippers in January. The Milwaukee Bucks are do not have a chance for the play offs, they are currently the second last team in the east, and last night they had their seventh loss in a row. In the east competition, Miami beat the Toronto Raptors (92:89) thanks to four free throws by James Posey in the last 18 seconds. So the Florida team still holds the leading spot in the south east division. Posey missed nine out of ten shots in the match, but made up for it with concentration during his free throws. Miami is playing without their best player Dwayne Wade, and a large weight on each game needs to be brought out by Shaquille O’Neal (16, 12 jumps).
The best team in the NBA league, the Dallas Mavericks beat the Sacramento Kings (97:93) as guests, and Howard (29), Jason Terry (27) and Jerry Stackhouse (23) made up for Dirk Nowitzkog who did not play due to food poisoning.
The Denver Nuggets were better than the LA Lakers (111:105), for which Kobe Bryant gave 39 points, and aged 28 years and 223 days, has become the youngest player in history to reach 19,000 points. Whilst Kobe is setting records, his team, the Lakers are losing. Last night Carmelo Anthony (31) and Marcus Camby (21, 20 jumps, 6 blocks) had more motive, because Denver needed a win for the play offs.
