COL BKB: Georgetown 71, St. John's 61

WASHINGTON, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Greg Whittington scored 12 points and Markel Starks added a trio of 3-pointers Sunday in No. 11 Georgetown's 71-61 win over St. John's.

Whittington went 5-for-8 from the field and Starks finished with 11 points for the Hoyas (19-5, 9-4 Big East), who led wire-to-wire and got back on the winning track after Wednesday's overtime loss at No. 2 Syracuse.

Jason Clark provided two key baskets late en route to 11 points while Nate Lubick had seven points, eight rebounds, five assists and three blocks for the victors.

D'Angelo Harrison drained five 3-pointers on his way to 24 points and Moe Harkness poured in 20 to go with eight boards for the Red Storm (10-15, 4-9).
