COLUMBIA, S.C., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Bruce Ellington pumped in 22 points for South Carolina and the Gamecocks came from behind Saturday to defeat No. 24 Vanderbilt 83-75 in overtime.

Sam Muldrow posted a triple-double -- 16 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks -- and the Gamecocks (10-4, 1-0 SEC) overcame a 14-point, second-half deficit to log the victory in the Southeastern Conference opener for both schools.

The win was the third in four games for the South Carolina.

Vanderbilt (11-3, 0-1), which saw its four-game winning streak snapped, was led by John Jenkins with 27 points.
