CHICAGO, March 19 (UPI) -- Brandon Rozzell made six of 11th-seeded Virginia Commonwealth's 12 3-pointers Friday and the Rams stunned sixth-seeded Georgetown in the NCAA Tournament 74-56.
Virginia Commonwealth had to win a first-round game over USC just to get into the main bracket as the No. 11 seed in the Southeast Region and then went to the free throw line 39 times in eliminating the Hoyas.
Rozzell was 8-of-13 from the field and scored 26 points, pushing the Rams into a game Sunday against third-seeded Purdue. The Boilermakers advanced with a 65-43 decision over St. Peter's.
