Cro Cop Could Have Lost Leg Without Operation

The bacteria has been removed and the danger has passed. You should not joke with that, you can lose a leg, says Mirko.

Mirko Filipovic’s training has been temporarily stopped by a fluid collecting in his knee, which doctors had to urgently remove and send for an analysis to find out exactly what is in question. However, even though the procedure seemed quite simple and routine, Cro Cop revealed something terrifying.

“As soon as I came to hospital they put me to sleep and completely cleaned out my knee with a physiological fluid to reduce the risk to a minimum. The bacteria has now been removed and the danger has passed. You should not play with that. Bacteria in the knee is very dangerous, you can lose a led” revealed Mirko for Vecernji List.

“I had a fever for seven days, so they suspected a bacteria. It showed that there really were bacteria in the knee, because of which I am currently on an antibiotics treatment. Because a liquid antibiotic is in question, that I receive three times a day intravenously, I will have a needle in my arm until Monday. If the needle was not there, I would be training today” said Cro Cop.

However, he stressed that the procedure will not slow down or mess up his training, because he will make up for it with additional exercise and preparations, and that he will fight in July at the latest, as was planned.

Mirko is prepared just like in his best days

“To those who were concerned, I have to say that there is no reason to panic. If there are those who wished for the end of my career, I will disappoint them. I will start boxing in two weeks time. Besides that, I used the break for the general development of strength, so I believe that before me is, even though it is my last, the most productive period of my career” said Mirko to his fans.

Also, he announced that he will be stronger than ever, because he has gained in muscle weight during his training for strength. He now weights 107 kilograms, with which he easily does four repetitions with 140kg on the bench. It is to be expected that Mirko will be prepared just like in his best days.
