Cro Cop Has Knee Surgery, To Fight Saitama In July

Mirko had to reconstruct his knee because his frontal cruciate ligaments, collateral ligaments and meniscus were completely destroyed.

After conquering giant Choi on New Year`s Day, Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic, underwent knee surgery, as it has been troubling him for eight months, Dnevnik reports.

Cro Cop had surgery at the Zagreb Trauma Clinic, after which he will be recovering in the upcoming months and gradually return to practicing.

- I have to reconstruct my knee. My frontal cruciate ligaments, collateral ligaments and meniscus were completely destroyed in May – Mirko said, who fought his last two consecutive fights with a damaged knee

Surgery was performed by doctor Hudetz, who advised him not to fight against Choi and Overeem, but Mirko still went ahead as planned, despite medical advice.

Fight scheduled for July

Filipovic is to fight in July already, but it is still not familiar where he will continue fighting. Cro Cop will have to decide between the UFC and the Dream organisation, which he said goodbye to:
