Croatian Olympic official said on Thursday that anti-doping authorities would conduct additional tests on the 800 metres runner.
However, a Croatian Olympic official said on Thursday that anti-doping authorities would conduct additional tests on the 800 metres runner, likely in June.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said earlier this week it had discovered seven more positive drugs results after re-testing samples taken from the Beijing Games.
Perisic, who was eliminated in the first round of the women's 800 heats in China, was among six athletes who tested positive for the blood booster CERA.
"B-tests will be run in agreement with Vanja and the Croatian Athletic Federation," Biserka Vrbek, assistant to the secretary general of country's Olympic Committee, told Reuters.
"We won't consider taking any measures before we get the test results. As we know there have been mistakes with the preliminary tests before.
"If (her B sample) tests positive, the usual measure would be to ban her from running."
Bahrain's Olympic 1,500 metres gold medallist Rashid Ramzi was also among those the IOC said had failed tests for the same substance.
