Croatia’s ranking is the best since the team has been under leadership of Slaven Bilic. Croatia’s greatest opponents, England, are 15th.
According to the list of the international football federation (FIFA), the Croatian football team remains at fifth spot.
In July, Croatia was 15th and after excellent games at the European Championships it rose up to the fifth spot. Ever since Slaven Bilic has been leading the team, this has been Croatia’s best ranking. Croatians had the best ranking in early 1999 when it came in third in the world.
England, Croatia’s toughest adversaries for the world championships in 2010, are in the 15th spot.
The first five spots carry European teams. European championships Spain have kept number one spot, followed by Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and Croatia.
The ranking is as follows:
