Croatia`s Antonia Balek has won her second medal at the Paralympic Games in shot put. Her first gold was in javelin.
Antonia Balek`s Paralympic Games fairy tale continues as she has won her second gold medal in this competition. She has gone through hell, but managed to rise above all her troubles. She regained faith in herself in sports and decided to compete in throwing disciplines. Antonia is exceptionally dominant in these disciplines, which she has displayed in Beijing as well.
After throwing the best result of the past three series, she did not even go out to throw. Realising this success, she said this meant coming back from the dead and that everyone knows she is alive again.
Croatian athletic team selector Branko Omazic kept his promise and will come back from Beijing with three athletic medals, but he points out that this is Antonia Balek`s great success.
Antonia Balek won a gold medal in javelin several days ago, setting the new world record with 12.79 metres.
