Cyclist Schumacher`s Beijing Games Sample Positive

`The federation has passed on to Mr Schumacher documentation of a positive re-test stemming from the Beijing Games,` a BDR official told.

German cyclist Stefan Schumacher has tested positive for banned substance CERA in a re-testing of samples from last year's Beijing Olympics, the German cycling federation (BDR) said on Wednesday.

"The federation has passed on to Mr Schumacher documentation of a positive re-test stemming from the Beijing Games. He can now request the testing of the B sample. Further details will be announced in a statement," a BDR official told Reuters.

The International Olympic Committee said seven samples from six athletes had turned out positive for the banned substance CERA after re-tests were conducted on about 950 samples.
