One of the world best swimmers, Inde de Bruijn (33) declared the end of her successful career
Inge de Bruijn, 8 times Olympic medallist, four of which are golden, announced to APN Dutch agency that she is retiring. The current holder of the world record on 50 metres freestyle said she reached a maximum level and that she saw no other challenges.
- I am 33 which in swimming is an equivalent of being a grandmother in the ordinary life – said the five time world champion, who has not appeared on big competitions since 2004.
